The founders of Netlog and Twoo, Lorenz Bogaert and Toon Coppens, are ready to turn their focus to other projects
Joost Roelandts, currently the COO of Twoo, will be appointed CEO as of 1 July 2016. Twoo’s founders, the Internet entrepreneurs Lorenz Bogaert and Toon Coppens, have announced that they will fully devote themselves to their other projects.
“Over the past years Joost has proven to be a highly respected leader who gets things done.”, says Lorenz Bogaert. “We will be more than happy to continue to support him as members of the board of directors, but we strongly believe in his abilities to turn Twoo into the most successful place to meet new people.” Joost Roelandts started working for the Internet company in 2007. “My job interview took place in the Irish Pub in Aalst, as all meeting rooms in the former office had been transformed into office spaces.”, Joost Roelandts recalls with a smile. “It’s a big challenge to follow in the footsteps of Toon and Lorenz, but I can count on an incredibly talented and motivated team. This is the most intelligent and hard working team I’ve ever got to work with.” Joost’s first objective is to further improve the level of satisfaction of the steadily growing group of users, for instance by making chatting on Twoo more free.
Toon Coppens and Lorenz Bogaert are embracing the future with confidence. Toon explains: “We’ve been at the helm of this great company for many happy years, but we’re confident that we’re passing the baton to a worthy successor. From the day Joost joined our company, we knew he would go very far. He’s reliable and a true all-rounder: he possesses solid technical skills combined with strong business acumen and excellent people skills.”
“We can devote ourselves to our other projects with complete peace of mind.”, Lorenz concludes.
